All India Political Parties Meet
Rights of Indigenous People with Special Focus on the Issue of Ladakh
Committee Background
The All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM) is a unique platform bringing together representatives from across India's political spectrum to deliberate on pressing national issues. This committee fosters collaborative dialogue, ensuring that diverse perspectives are heard and considered. AIPPM's goal is to reach a consensus on policies that transcend partisan divides, reflecting the collective will of the nation.
This year, the AIPPM focuses on the critical issue of the rights of indigenous people, with a special emphasis on the region of Ladakh. As India progresses, the need to protect the cultural heritage, land rights, and socio-economic interests of indigenous communities becomes increasingly important. Ladakh, with its rich cultural tapestry and strategic significance, faces unique challenges. The recent changes in its administrative status have heightened concerns about preserving the rights and traditions of its indigenous populations. The committee aims to address these concerns by formulating policies that ensure the protection of indigenous rights, promote sustainable development, and safeguard the cultural identity of Ladakh. Through this collaborative effort, AIPPM strives to create a balanced approach that honors the heritage of Ladakh while fostering its growth and integration into the broader national framework.

Greetings delegates! To begin with, we would first like to offer you the heartiest welcome to Daly College Model United Nations 2024 - ‘Eperantia’. It is certainly an honour to serve as your Executive Board for this committee.
This year the All India Political Parties Meet will be focusing on the crucial issue of Ladakh and the rights of its indigenous people. It is with grave concern that we observe the challenges faced by indigenous communities, particularly in regions like Ladakh, where their rights are often neglected or overlooked. The indigenous people of Ladakh have long endured socio-economic hardships exacerbated by their unique topography, harsh climate, and geographic isolation. Despite their rich cultural heritage and invaluable contributions to the region, they continue to struggle for recognition, representation, and basic rights.
Therefore, as representatives of different political parties, it is incumbent upon you, esteemed delegates, to prioritise the rights of indigenous people during your deliberations in the committee. It is imperative to address the systemic issues that perpetuate marginalisation and inequality, and to ensure that policies and legislation are crafted with the active involvement and consultation of indigenous communities. We further call upon you to consider measures that promote inclusive governance, equitable access to resources, protection of cultural heritage, and sustainable development initiatives tailored to the needs of indigenous peoples, particularly those in Ladakh.
We sincerely look forward to seeing you all at the conference ready to indulge in fiery and flavorful debate, equipped with boundless enthusiasm and an unwavering commitment to championing the rights of indigenous peoples.
